Fritz & Kathy Wohl

1955 Chevrolet
My interest in cars started when I was around 12 years old. When I was 16 years old I bought a 1952 Chevy pickup and drove that for awhile and than traded it for my dream car, a 1955 Chevy 2-dr hardtop. I had that car for many years and than traded it for a 1963 Ford Galaxie convertible, and than I had a chance to buy it back again and had it for awhile and than stupidly traded it again, for a pickup which I needed at the time. By the time I decided to get that car back and restore it like it should be, the owner wouldn't sell it and had a poor restoration done on it and ruined it. He sold it out of state and who knows where it is now.

Over the years my wife-Kathy and 1 have had several classic cars, 56 Ford, 58 Chevy Impala convertible and other 55 Chevys.

Now my interest has been restoring the old classics. I managed to find a 1955 Chevy convertible in Grand Junction, Co., in quite a need of repair, my wife Kathy said, when she saw it, 'you're not thinking of buying that, are you?' Well, after 6 years of restoration, it is quite a nice car. I restored a 1955 short-box pickup and I am currently working on a 1957 2-dr hardtop.

I do most of the work myself, the interiors I have had done by upholstery shops. I own an electrical contracting business, so I do not have the time I'd like to spend working on the vehicles, but I hope to do more of that when I retire if my health is good. I also like to hunt and fish, so I have to divide my time between my hobbies and I suppose also spend some time with my wife-Kathy. She does share my interest in the classics so we attend some car events together.

I have several other vehicles waiting for restoration which include a 1955 Chevy 2-dr hardtop, another 1955 short-box pickup and a old Dodge panel truck.
